Thailand’s FDA conducts seafood security checks on Japanese seafood for radiation amid nuclear water discharge issues

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Thailand revealed the outcomes of their analysis of seafood imported from Japan following the discharge of handled water from a nuclear energy plant. Out of 75 samples, all had been quarantined for inspection and seafood security.

Lerschai explained that they had sent the samples for analysis of Cesium-134 (Cs-134) and Cesium-137 (Cs-137) levels on the Office for Atoms for Peace, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. As Cesium is the first radioactive substance released into the surroundings by nuclear energy crops, it was essential to examine its ranges in these imports.
