Svanehøj wins fuel pump order for 15 LNG dual-fuel container vessels

Orders for dual-fuel LNG vessels broke all data in 2021 with a complete of 240 ships globally. That is more than the earlier 4 years mixed. And growth looks set to proceed unabated in 2022.

Large investment in lean manufacturing and new gear
To help the green transition of the maritime business, Svanehøj is at present investing more than DKK 10 million in upgrading its manufacturing services in Denmark. A new manufacturing facility format with manufacturing cells and robotics will support Svanehøj’s bold progress strategy and reduce lead instances for all merchandise.
“We have made a strategic choice to implement lean manufacturing. By rethinking our processes, we expect to increase productivity and capability by up to 50%,” says Mikkel Bülow Bundgaard Sørensen, Lean Specialist, Svanehøj.
Svanehøj has entered 2022 with a new technique and a goal of doubling its turnover to DKK 1 billion ($152 million) by the tip of 2026. In addition to gas pumps for LNG, LPG, and carbon-neutral fuels, Svanehøj sees nice potential in developing pump solutions for the infrastructure to be constructed round Power-to-X and carbon seize and storage (CCS).
