In the wake of the flooding and landslides that occurred in KwaZulu-Natal in April and May 2022, 448 individuals were left useless and greater than forty 000 displaced, with injury to roads, schools, water infrastructure and companies.
On 18 April, President Cyril Ramaphosa declared a national state of disaster.
