The expanded GIW manufacturing complex in Grovetown.
The first two phases of the growth have been approved in 2013 in response to rising market demand for bigger equipment. Since then, the Grovetown facility has accomplished upgrades, added tens of 1000’s of sq. feet to its foundry, elevated furnace capability, accomplished building on a distribution centre, and gained approval for 3 further phases of improvement.
With the completion of the challenge, KSB has quadrupled its capability to mould castings over 20,000 lbs (9000 kg), elevated its maximum pouring output by up to 66,000 lbs (30,000 kg), lowered the variety of required shot blast runs by 50%, added particular cleaning stations for giant castings, carried out new technology and efficiency solutions, and doubled worker locker room services.
KSB went ahead with the project’s completion, despite the Covid-19 pandemic and its financial fallout.
“Our prospects within the mining industry are doing important work to maintain the financial system afloat. KSB is extra committed than ever to providing our partners with an uninterrupted supply of pumps and parts. Completing this growth improves our ability to serve our clients, and we’ll cease at nothing to assist the success of our clients’ operations,” says Wolfgang Demmler, president of KSB Mining.
In 2020, the KSB Group launched KSB Mining, a new market-driven group offering experience on centrifugal pumps to mining operations.
The expanded amenities in Grovetown serve as the headquarters of GIW Slurry Pumps.
GIW currently employs over 600 individuals at its Grovetown facility.
