Track record : Officers at Patong Hospital have denied reviews in a neighborhood Thai-language newspaper that an Australian serviceman on shore depart was in a coma after being stabbed repeatedly following an altercation in Patong on the evening of November 5.

The newspaper, which gave the name of the 22-year-old sufferer, reported that he was stabbed three times within the stomach, inflicting his stomach wall to rupture and his intestines to spill out.
The report said the sufferer, considered one of about 1,000 Australian military personnel on shore depart in Phuket in current days, was stabbed at about 9:30 pm by a member of a motorbike taxi queue that controls an area close to the back entrance to the Jungceylon shopping advanced.
He was saved by workers at Patong Hospital and transferred to Bangkok Hospital Phuket in Phuket City, based on the report.
