A combination of Thais and foreigners had been arrested at a restaurant in Koh Samui over the weekend for allegedly ingesting alcohol and playing. They were also allegedly witnessed enjoying pool. The bar patrons had been in violation of Surat Thani’s Provincial Orders that forbids gatherings, notably gatherings that include ingesting alcohol. Around 20 prospects have been busted for drinking alcohol when police raided the premises. The title of the restaurant was not supplied.
After allegedly catching individuals within the act of imbibing, shooting pool, and playing officials went to the proprietor of the restaurant for an initial inspection. The Pattaya News says the proprietor confessed to serving alcoholic drinks and also admitted that the drinks have been put in ceramic espresso mugs to obscure the reality that the mugs contained alcoholic beverages. The proprietor was then charged for selling alcoholic drinks and allowing others to drink alcohol and play pool at the restaurant. It was not talked about if they were additionally charged for the patrons alleged gambling as properly.
The nearly 2 dozen clients had been taken to an area police station for further legal proceedings. The promoting of alcoholic drinks at eating places and bars has been banned for months due to a mandate by the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration.
